Marble & Moss (2022)
Live Visuals, generated programmatically
Marble & Moss is a work exploring idealised representations of beauty. It is inspired by depictions of famous statues as trans people, such as depicting Michelangelo's "David" with top surgery scars, or James Pradier's "The Three Graces" with external genitalia.
The work uses shuffled depictions of marble statues as a medium for a physarum simulation of moss to grow upon, the moss consumes the statues, slowly growing into something new.
